The Indian Pacific is a luxury tourist passenger train that travels between Sydney, on the Pacific Ocean and Perth, on the Indian Ocean. It covers a total distance of 4352km and the journey takes approximately 65hrs or 4 days and 3 nights. In 2021 I travelled from Sydney to Adelaide in the train’s gold single cabin, today I’m going to board the Indian Pacific again and complete my unfinished journey last year and travel from Adelaide to Perth.

Thanks for your videos Mate.
I have to say the Cabin layouts are still in the 1970's thus making the trips so far over priced it should be an embarrassment to the Rail companies .
The view of the middle of Australia is awesome but not worth a Kidney!
I'll jump on a plane for 1/4 of the price….. Yeah I'll lose the scenery but at least my family will be able to eat and enjoy a holiday.
So much to see in the Australian outback. I hope to take this journey one day. Very good video
Thanks
Hi Rory,
Absolutely loving your videos. I also happen to love trains too, although I have yet to experience a cabin on one. I have never been to Australia either, but I may well visit soon as my brother and my uncle live in Brisbane and Perth respectively, so I have a good excuse to go. Would definitely travel by sleeper train.
Thank you for your informing and entertaining vlogs. Have subscribed.

such beautiful scenery
very compact bathroom, agreed you want a private one and not shared when paying $$$ for a trip you may only do once in your lifetime. having watched your platinum one, that is obviously very comfortable but i think for most people this would be the sweet spot and the most affordable.
Your video is amazing. I enjoyed watching them through without skipping. I have travelled from Perth to Adelaide Melbourne Canberra Sydney Brisbane Cairns by car 9 years ago and was wondering how would it be if I was travelling by train. Your video explains everything that I need to know. Thank you very much ❤️
Great
Another great video 👍. Did Melbourne to Perth and back in 90s. Single room, bland food, lots of heavy drinkers in the lounge car. Made me into a frequent flyer ever since. A highlight was walking around Kalgoorlie’s red light district at 4am. Glad to see that the rolling stock and catering has improved. One thing that hasn’t changed is that it is still an expensive choice.
As of November 2022, the usual route between Adelaide and Sydney is flooded and the Indian Pacific has been diverted via Melbourne
Hi Rory
Another enjoyable post. I see the prices are increasing for next year however, it is a mystery how people continue to pay the price of a ticket. To me it is absolute extortion, I don’t know how they justify it? Thanks Rory keep them coming
There used to be two locomotives but now there's one. What happened? "The front fell off."
$8,375 for the Platinum double/twin? I don't want to buy it, just to use it for one trip. On the other hand anybody with more sense than dollars would fly first class and spend the other $7,000 on something outrageously luxurious.
Hi Really enjoy your programs. Just wondered whether u intend to do any of the following train journeys: Melb. to Swan Hill, Shepparton and Traralgon; Sydney to Moree and Broken Hill and the Inlander in Queensland? The way in which u cover journeys is excellent.
Nice socks. Bonds?
Great review Rory.
Thank you! That was an excellent review of the trip that made me feel I had taken the journey. Well done indeed! Cheers!
Next stop, I guess head to New Zealand and try their long distance trains there.
