I’ve watched this a few times now and it is by far my favourite video of yours to date. It looks like you had a lot of fun. The passengers are warm and friendly and the staff engaging. I really want to make this trip now! X
Eh ? Good memories I did in 2012, 2013 & 2015 and haven't since because it's insanely expensive 😢
Great video showing every aspect of the trip. I liked that you showed a lot about the social side, important for people planning to travel alone. You are obviously a very sociable guy! So it worked, full marks! As well as heaps of info about accommodation, food (my favourite!) also.
Good work! 👍
How do you pay for all these train trips
This is one of the best reviews of a train journey I've ever seen. Well done! Subscribed!
Finally got home from my IP Sydney or I should say Lithgow to Perth. Very weird trip. I think they only call you by name if they want to. My crew couldn’t be bothered. The cabins were freezing. Still recovering from my chills. Plus the 100 minute wait in freezing conditions on the platform at Lithgow. So I missed last day .. stuck in my cabin. Sadly. So looking forward for this for my birthday, others on train got champagne and cake and candles at dinner. I missed out. I think it’s the luck of the draw.
Sadly no more Journey Beyond for me.
You have reached half a million views. Time to get back on the train! More awesome reviews please.
How the hell do they justify such high prices? It's just greed.
You did this journey on my birthday. Haha 😂
Would love to ride on this ♥️👍
Woohoo! Currently at 505,316 views… looks like you'll be riding Platinum! Enjoyed this detailed review… looking forward to the next. Thanks for sharing.
I've been on the journey to Perth from Sydney, it's something every Aussie should experience. It's fantastic
Half a million view reached …buck up mate for Adelaide to perth
Looks great my friend took the Indian Pacific to Darwin loved it and you give a fantastic description sad though all the regional trains especially for long distance do not cater for children including in Queensland ….so though they should have a mini area for kids
Feels like I grew up on that train, back in the '80s and '90s when it was Government owned and operated they used to give Pensioners a couple of $10 return tickets each year and with Mum being on the signal parent pension at the time we used to head off from Broken Hill (home / still is after moving back) to either Adelaide or Sydney during the School holidays to visit family. My first trip on the IP was when I was a baby in the mid-'80s with the first trip I remember being to Adelaide as a 5-year-old in 1989. We always traveled in economy class, and the overnighters to Sydney are burnt into my mind (probably why I can handle long-haul international flights now). On one trip to Adelaide, someone put a tyre and rim on the track and nearly derailed the train on another trip to Adelaide the train hit a cow and we lost the power van and the train kept going though to Adelaide some 300km with no power to the carriages which meant no A/C in the middle of summer (they would never do that now!).
So close to half a million views, I love your train vlogs
seen. Enjoyed.
I love this guys voice and the way he talks.. I find it so relaxing, and his videos is like a bedtime story for me. X

Great video
Hi Rory thank you for your videos only discovered you recently but have been binge watching your videos. Because of your videos I was able to show my daughter what our trip in premium economy on The Spirit of Queensland will be like, we're travelling in November departing from Cairns. Am curious what app you're using to log the train speed in this video? Once again thank you for your wonderful content ☺️
Hey Rory i have a question will you be doing the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth it would be good to hear your detailed review they are a bit lacking
Thankyou for the video, I've always wondered what it was like inside the Indian Pacific as it passes through my town.
Love train travel.
I’ve binged so many of your videos recently. This looked like a great trip and your fellow passengers were lovely too. Thanks for producing the content. 👍
This is brilliant and I love it yea
Awesome video again
i had no idea about luxury travel by train love the reviews
Rory who knows it coudle be llike "The Orient Express" jk 😛
Fantastic video. I loved it, but I have to agree with you….half a pie for lunch. It might be haute cuisine, but it's damn un-Australian.
I’m convinced….I need to do a travel around Aussie on the train!!!
Lovely, complete review. It seemed like fun and I loved the shot you took of the South Australian landscape through your glass of champagne. Says it all about the feel of the trip, I reckon it would look good in the Indian Pacific brochure.
This looked like a fun trip and the food looked great my only complain was the size of ur room it would never work for me lol im 6ft 2in tall @ 295 pounds lol- i need a lot more space 😁😉
Thanks Rory. I am doing the Gold single cabin from Sydney to perth Next week. Glad you fully showed the cabin, and you put the bed up, I wondered how that worked. Interesting what you said aobut the shower as well. I hope you got to the the Adelaid to Perth sector. I will try and find it.
