Riverlea is South Australia’s largest housing development, situated 32km north of the capital of the state of South Australia in the new suburb – Riverlea Park.

Riverlea is proposed to cover an area of 450 hectares and with a population of up to 40,000, with 40 hectares of waterways. Completion is expected by 2036. Some critics are concerned about the isolation from the rest of Adelaide and the threat of flooding. Many environmental factors — including the potential of flooding — and mitigation measures to deal with those factors are required to be addressed before final approvals are granted for each stage. The project was first supported by the state government in 2007.

Riverlea Park is a northern suburb of Adelaide in South Australia. It was created by excluding part of the suburb of Buckland Park in February 2022. Buckland Park is named after an early pioneer homestead in the area. Market gardening is the main activity as the soil is predominantly on the flood plain of the lower Gawler River. Buckland Park is one of the sites of the Adelaide region weather radar.

The northern boundary of Riverlea Park is the Gawler River, and its eastern boundary is Port Wakefield Road.

Riverlea Park contains a large urban housing estate under development by Walker Corporation. The main entrance is controlled by a new set of traffic lights installed on Port Wakefield Road. At the time the suburb was created, 605 lots had been sold for housing. The remaining part of Buckland Park remains predominantly rural.
