In 2021, I travelled on Journey Beyond’s Overland train from Melbourne to Adelaide, the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Adelaide, the Ghan Platinum service from Adelaide to Darwin. The Great Southern is the company’s brand new luxury train service. In the 2021-2022 season, Journey Beyond organised a special Christmas Great Southern trip, it departs Adelaide on Christmas Eve, passengers will then enjoy a sumptuous feast at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra on Christmas day, and after a short stopover in Coffs Harbour, the train will arrive Brisbane on boxing day.
